Matt O’Riley popped up pitchside on the ViaPlay camaras on Sunday after picking up another well-deserved man of the match award.
It was former Celtic player and manager Neil Lennon who praised the midfielder for his goals and assists this season and when he asked him what he thought the reasons for his stats were the Danish international gave an answer that other players or youth players could really take on board to include in their mindset and game.
“I think you get more lucky, the more you get out of your own way, I’m trying to play purely for the team this season and not think about myself and it’s working”
You could argue that very few players have improved under Brendan Rodgers but Matt O’Riley is the most improved player at Celtic this season so much so that he is apparently attracting attention from all the top leagues.
