Celtic are set to face Aberdeen today in the SPFL coming off the back of a demoralising defeat from their Champions League fixture in Madrid on Tuesday night.
Brendan Rodgers said he and his team needed a 24-hour grieving period to get over the disastrous 6-0 defeat to Athletico Madrid. The Scottish champions did have an extra day to recover mainly down to Aberdeen playing their European fixture, a 2-2 draw on Thursday in Greece.
So both teams have a certain amount of recovery and energy to worry about. The mental attitude of the Celtic team is also in question after such a heavy loss. On top of that the club lost Daizen Maeda for 5-6 weeks after he got injured in a tackle he got red-carded for.
