Sydney Van Hooijdonk to Celtic seems to be the only sniff of transfer activity from the Scottish Champions with the deadline day fast approaching.

These rumours went into overdrive last night when the striker was not even on the bench for an away game against Milan and it was rumoured that his absence was due to his imminent departure for Scotland.

However, Bologna officially revealed the reason for his absence on Friday, saying the 23-year-old was unavailable due to flu.

The Dutch forward is still expected to leave Bologna soon as his club have apparently reached an agreement to sign Santiago Castro from Velez.

Celtic have so many holes in their matchday squad and they are carrying so much dead weight that at this moment time this looks like one of the worse transfer windows in recent history.
