K-League striker, Oh Hyeon-Gyu has informed his current club, Suwon Samsung Bluewings, of his desire to make a move to Celtic this month, according to reports in South Korea.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to the Scottish Champions for some time, and it appears that his wish may soon be realised.

Korean Outlet KBS claim Hyun-Gyu has asked his club FOUR times to give him a transfer to Europe. They also spoke to Suwon Samsung Bluewings manager Lee Byung-Kuen who revealed he can no longer stand in the frontman’s way.

The South Korean manager confirmed Celtic’s interest in Hyeon-guy and the player’s eagerness to complete the transfer.

It is believed that Celtic is keen to secure the services of the prolific forward, and could complete the transfer before the end of the month.

If the move goes through, Oh Hyeon-gyu would be a welcome addition to the Celtic side, and would provide them with a much-needed boost in their quest for silverware.

The bhoys could still sell their Greek striker Giakoumakis in January. It could be one in, one out before the deadline
